Our Community

Caring about our children, our families and our community – Haseltine is at the heart of its community and welcomes everyone.

Our children are taught to care for each other and are aware of who lives in our community. We help to fundraise for our community and for national charities.

All of our community are welcome to join us for our community events, such as Summer Fairs when we are able to have them.

Parents and Carers

There are many ways in which parents can support the school and the children’s learning. Most importantly it is really helpful when you support your child in coming to school on time every day and ready to learn.

You help best when you share your child’s learning experiences by talking to them about their day and supporting them with their home learning. Our more able readers are almost always the children that read at home daily with their parents.

We also welcome parent help during the school day. This may be spending time with one class and supporting their learning or hearing different children read. The Haseltine Hub relies on our team of volunteers and we are always happy to welcome new parents onto that team. Please speak to us if you are interested. Our Hub is open for parents, carers and younger siblings on: Tuesdays between 9 and 11.30 am and Wednesday between 9 and 10.45 am. Please just pop in!

Friends of Haseltine

We often need your support when we are taking the children out of school. Let the class teacher know if you are able to accompany the class. You will be given very clear guidelines about your responsibilities whilst you are with your allocated group.

Support Friends of Haseltine

We need your help to organise fund raising events. Would you like to be a Haseltine Friend? Please contact us if you are able to support our fundraising events.

Around our school

We work with our community to ensure safer parking around the school and with the local authority to reduce the number of heavy vehicles using Haseltine Road.

Since April 2021, the roads around Haseltine (Bell Green Lane & Haseltine Rd) have been made a School Streets area. This means that the road is closed to traffic between 8.30-9.30am and 2.45-4pm.

We had several new trees planted on Haseltine Road in 2021, we also have a Green Screen Ivy & Clematis Wall along the Reception & Nursery border wall with Stanton Way.
